Viking Horn Secrets

Why a Viking Horn is so much better than all the rest

viking hornFor a start every Viking Horn is made with a lot of love and care. Because we take so much pride producing each one, using only the safest, natural products to seal and polish it, we like to think of each one as kind of a work of art.

We’ve been selling drinking horns since 2005, and we’re always looking at ways to improve quality and endurance. Each one we ship is 100% unique, water-tight and beautifully fit for service.

Not every Viking horn is this good

Some drinking horns aren’t even made from real horn.

Drinking from inferior horns frequently leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. That’s because they haven’t been sealed with a food and drink resilient coating.

Others aren’t polished or sealed properly and a few are not even meant to be used for drinking!

At the Viking Workshop we only sell horns made from real cows, crafted and finished to the highest possible standards.

- 3 Important Things You Should Know About Our Products

1. They Are Very, Very Well Made

Because we manage the entire process ourselves, from choosing the free-range cattle we buy for our basic materials to the professional quality sealing products we use, we can ensure every horn is individually crafted to the highest standards.

We’re not a big company and we have a small team of dedicated professionals, who use the best quality materials to create exceptional finished products. Our horns look good and do the job.

We give each Viking horn a deep polished finish, so it will keep its natural shine and serve you well for many years. The procedure we use is way ahead of most other makers, bringing out the natural beauty of the products we work with.

2. Viking Horns Leave No Nasty After Taste

viking hornsInferior quality horns often carry a residual ‘horn’ flavour, which can be unpleasant. The deep resilient coating we apply ensures a 100% liquid tight seal that lasts for years.

That means a Viking horn only tastes of what you put in it, not its previous owner!

3. Every Viking Horn is a Beautiful One-Off Creation

All the drinking horns we sell are individually finished by our expert team. Because each one has been cut to make the very most of its natural colour, texture and shape, no two Viking horns are the same. But they’re all beautiful and they all come from free ranging cattle in the UK.

As such exact sizes and colours are never totally accurate. So our horns always hold a little more volume than listed, and we do our very best to match your selected colours with a choice of dark medium or mixed.

In fact, we work as hard as we can, to create products of the highest quality that you’ll be delighted with. And as we say, every Viking Horn comes from a real, free ranging cow.
